At FRCC, you have choices. You can earn a two-year associate degree that will transfer to any public four-year school in Colorado. Or you can earn a two-year associate degree and short-term certificate that will prepare you to start working.
Two-Year Associate Degrees That Transfer
If you want to transfer to earn your bachelors then our Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degrees will get you there.
Associate of Arts (AA) Degree
This two-year general Associate of Arts (AA) degree is a transfer degree designed for students who plan to get their bachelor's degree at a four-year college or university. Classes provide the foundation course work for Liberal Arts and Social Science degrees and are guaranteed to transfer to any public four-year college or university in Colorado.
With this A.A. degree, you'll complete your basic classes at FRCC (e.g. English, math, science, etc.) and then enter as a junior to complete your bachelor degree at one of Colorado's four-year schools.

Associate of Science (AS) Degree
This two-year associate degree is a transfer degree designed for students who plan to get their bachelor's degree in a math or science field (e.g. computer science, physics, engineering, etc.) at a four-year college or university. The classes you take are guaranteed to transfer to any public four-year college or university in Colorado.
With this two-year AS degree, you'll complete your basic classes at FRCC (e.g. English, math, science, etc.) and then enter as a junior to complete your bachelor degree at a Colorado four-year school.
You can earn an A.S. degree at FRCC in these areas of study:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Computer Science
- Fermentation Sciences
- Geology
- Horticulture Business Management
- Environmental Horticulture-Landscape Business
- Mathematics
- Physics

Career Degrees & Certificates
Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree
This is a technical degree and prepares students to enter either skilled occupations or to advance in their current jobs. These programs are not intended to transfer to bachelor degree programs, but certain courses may be accepted toward a bachelor’s degree at some institutions.
