You'll gain an understanding of the natural world with an Associate of Science (AS) degree in biology. Our labs give you hands-on experience and prepare you for a four-year degree. At FRCC, our close-knit, supportive environment means you'll have the skills, knowledge and resources you need to be successful.
Why Study Biology at Front Range Community College?
In small classrooms and laboratories, you'll develop an appreciation of the nature of living organisms and biological processes. You'll study life and living beings, including their types, growth, structure, evolution and where and how they live.
The study of biology opens up a world of possible careers such as:
- Researcher
- Teacher
- Occupational therapist
- Physical therapist
- Doctor
- Environmental scientist
- Pharmacist
- Veterinarian
Science careers often require a bachelor's degree or higher. At FRCC, you'll get the guidance and support you need for a smooth transfer to a four-year university. You'll work closely with an advisor to make sure you're on the right track. Depending on your career interests, for some students, a general Associate of Science (AS) degree or a general Associate of Arts (AA) degree is a better fit. No matter your goals, we'll work with you to develop an academic plan that works for you.

Before arriving at FRCC, Olivia Carter lacked the confidence to even consider attending a four-year college. Now a biology major at Colorado State University, her undergraduate research has been published — and she’s on track to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in 2022.
