Spring 2026 Application Info

The Spring 2026 application period will be open from September 2 - 12, 2025.

Before You Begin

  • The Associate Degree Nursing Program has a competitive admission process. Each application is ranked and the top 40 students are granted admission into the program each fall and spring semester. If two applicants tie, their applications are ranked in the order they were received. The number of admitted students may be reduced due to limitations in clinical experiences.
  • Use the School of Nursing Application Checklist to review all criteria and prepare your application materials before starting the online application.
  • All applicants must meet minimum requirements. Incomplete applications will not be
considered. The application link will be available in Step 6 during the application period only.

  • Immunizations, an AHA (American Heart Association) BLS Provider card, drug screen, and a
background check will be required once admitted into the ADN program.

Step 1: Apply to become a student at FRCC

Apply to become a student at FRCC. Choose AA in Health Sciences as your major.

Step 2: Meet with advisors

We recommend all students meet with a Westminster Campus Health Science & Wellness academic advisor and a financial aid advisor (optional).

Step 3: Complete prerequisites

Application Prerequisites

The following courses (or an equivalent transfer course) must be complete with a letter grade of "C" or higher and a minimum 3.0 GPA prior to application semester for the program. See Notes below for information about course repeats & withdrawals.

  • BIO1010 Biology Foundations
  • BIO2101 Human Anatomy & Physiology I w/Lab
  • ENG1021 or ENG1022 English Composition I or II
  • PSY2440 (PSY235) Human Growth & Development

In-Progress/Admission Prerequisites

The following courses (or an equivalent transfer course) must also be completed with a letter grade of “C” or higher and a minimum 3.0 GPA prior to final admittance to the program and registration for classes.  However, they may be in progress at the time of your application*.

  • BIO2104 Microbiology w/Lab
  • HPR1010 Dietary Nutrition (1 cr) OR HWE1050 Human Nutrition (3 cr)

*If BIO2104, HPR 1010, and/or HWE 1050 are in progress, the transcript from the institution where the course is being taken must be uploaded to the application. If the course is being taken outside of FRCC, the course must be transferred to an FRCC transcript upon completion. Final grades and FRCC transcripts will be verified before final admittance to the program and class registration.

Notes:

  • Course Repeats/Ds or Fs: If a transcript reflects two Ds or Fs (or a combination of) in the same
course, or a combination of any admission prerequisites in the past 2 years, the applicant will be ineligible to apply to the FRCC Nursing program.
  • Prior completion of BIO2102 from a regionally accredited college, including FRCC, with a letter grade of 'C' or higher is worth points in the ranking system.
  • Credit from a transfer course must already be visible on your FRCC transcript for the application. Evaluations take up to 30 days to complete after the FRCC Registrar receives the official transcript and the Transfer Credit Evaluation Form. To be considered 'official', transcripts may not be issued to the student. Transcripts must be mailed directly from the previous college to the FRCC Office of the Registrar.
  • All required science prerequisites must have been completed no more than 10 years prior to admission into the program. We will only look at the first two attempts of science courses within the previous 10 years and will take the higher grade.
