Front Range Community College pays (or disburses) funds on eligible student accounts at the end of the add/drop period for each semester that financial aid is offered.

Amount of Financial Aid Offer

All aid is offered with the assumption of full-time enrollment (12 credit hours or more for the semester). However, payment depends on the number of credits you are taking, so this doesn't mean you have to be enrolled in 12 or more credits to receive financial aid.

When we pay funds toward your balance at FRCC, funds will be prorated based on the credits you are taking. Federal financial aid will only pay towards courses that are required for your declared program of study at FRCC. View Course Program of Study for more information.

See the examples below to learn more about how FRCC disburses financial aid.

Subsidized and Unsubsidized Direct Loan:

In order for students to be eligible to receive a disbursment of accepted loan funding they must be enrolled in a financial aid eligible degree and/or certificate program and taking 6 or more credits applicable to the program. Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans have a loan fee that is a percentage of the loan amount and is proportionately deducted from each loan disbursement.

Getting a Refund

Financial aid is paid on your student account to cover eligible tuition and fees as well as certain bookstore charges. If you will receive money after this happens, the Cashier's Office will process the refund. Learn more about refunds.
