What is Verification?

The Financial Aid Office may need to request certain types of documentation from you for a process called verification.

Every year, approximately 30 percent of our applicants are selected by the US Department of Education for its verification process. Our office will communicate with students primarily through email and updates in eWOLF if documentation is needed. Please check both regularly to see any requests for documentation. 

All documentation is kept strictly confidential and only financial aid personnel have access to this information once it has been submitted. When there is any information that our office needs to complete the review of your file, we will notify you through your Colorado Community College System (CCCS) email account or through eWOLF.

Helpful Verification Tips

  • Don't delay! FRCC cannot release your financial aid offer until verification is complete. Acting quickly helps you avoid missing out on limited aid or being dropped from classes for unpaid tuition.
  • Check eWOLF often. Visit eWOLF regularly so you can stay on top of any updates. Click on the Financial Aid card to review your student requirements.
  • Watch your deadlines. Missing documents can slow down your financial aid. Submit everything as soon as you can.

Please note: Incomplete documents will result in an incomplete file. It is strongly recommended that students keep copies of all forms submitted to the Financial Aid Office as well as follow up on the processing of these documents.

Verification Process Steps

Check your eWOLF portal and student email

If you are selected for verification, a notification will be sent to your student email and a list of required documents will be listed in your eWOLF portal. To view your financial aid requirements, click on the Financial Aid card.

Gather requested documents

These often include tax transcripts, verification worksheets or a copy of your government-issued ID.

Submit your documents

You can securely upload your documents online through FRCC's Student Forms Portal.

To create your Student Forms account:

  • Go to https://frontrange.studentforms.com
  • Click ‘Create Account’ link
  • Confirm your student information and you will need to use the email on your FAFSA
  • Click ‘Create Account’ button
  • Watch for follow-up forms
  • Once your account is created, any required tasks needed to complete your FAFSA will become available.
  • Submit any additional forms as soon as possible

Review your award

Once we've received and reviewed all your documents, FRCC will update your account. You will receive an email and an updated aid offer that can be viewed from your eWOLF portal.

Your Privacy

As a student, you are protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). This means that personally identifiable information is protected by the school. This also means that you will need to provide written authorization in order for anyone, other than you, to have access to your educational records. Complete this form to authorize access to your educational records.
