Alternate Format Textbooks

Alternate Format Textbooks are designed to make content accessible to students with disabilities impacting reading. This may include braille, large print or an accessible digital text ensuring students can use their preferred assistive technology.

While we make every effort to deliver alternate format textbooks requests as soon as possible, please note some formats will take longer than others to obtain.

How to Receive Textbooks in Alternate Format

To receive your textbooks in an alternate format:

  1. Complete a new-student intake form and schedule an intake meeting to register with our office.
  2. Request your accommodation letter for the semester.
  3. Purchase your textbooks as soon as possible each semester (when applicable).
  4. Fill out the Alternate Format Textbook Request Form each semester as soon as possible.

Assistive Technology Evaluations

We can also provide more comprehensive assistive technology evaluations for students with complex needs. The need for an assistive technology evaluation is determined through our new student intake process.
