Are you a detail-oriented person who loves working behind the scenes? Do you want to play a critical role in healthcare, supporting both patients and healthcare providers? A FRCC, you can learn how to be an advanced pharmacy technician—and you can pursue an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Pharmaceutical Science.
Whatever program you choose, FRCC's hands-on training prepares you to join the pharmacy team. Pharmaceutical Science AAS
The Pharmaceutical Science program at FRCC lets you pursue a career in a variety of in-demand healthcare areas with knowledge in pharmaceutical foundations, biology, chemistry, anatomy, and physiology with a strong footing in science-related guaranteed transfer coursework.
You’ll work with instructors who are committed to your success and skilled at making complicated concepts understandable.
If you want to continue you're education, save money by completing the Pharmaceutical Sciences AAS at FRCC. As part of this program, you'll take the courses needed to apply for acceptance into the Regis University Doctorate of Pharmacy program. You'll also complete a number of guaranteed transfer courses that relate to medical and science-related fields.
Pharmacy Technician Certificate
We'll prepare you to work in community and institutional pharmacy settings and help you make important career connections.
Our one-year program prepares you to perform pharmacy-related functions, so you can work alongside pharmacists, pharmacy managers and other valuable healthcare professionals. Our training includes classroom and simulated components along with a hands-on experience to prepare you to enter the healthcare workforce.
Our program also prepares you to take the Pharmacy Technician National Examination. After passing the exam, you can register and apply for licensure to practice in Colorado.

Total Credits: 72 (5 semesters)
Take classes in pharmacy law and ethics, pharmacology, biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, and more.
This degree prepares you to pursue employment in a variety of pharmacy-related careers. You can also opt to continue your education and build on the knowledge you've obtained.
By completing this degree, you'll take the courses needed to apply for acceptance into the Regis University Doctor of Pharmacy program.

Advanced Pharmacy Technician Certificate
Advanced Pharmacy Technician Certificate
Program Locations: Larimer, Westminster
Total Credits: 26 credits (2 semesters)
The program prepares you to assist in the preparation of prescribed medications, including retrieving, counting, pouring, weighing, measuring, and mixing medications. You'll be qualified to work as a pharmacy technician in a retail pharmacy, hospital, nursing home, assisted living facility, or mail-order pharmacy.
During the first semester, you'll attend classes, and during the second semester, you'll complete an internship in both a hospital and a community pharmacy setting.
This program prepares you to sit to take the Pharmacy Technician National Examination.

Apprenticeships
FRCC works with several apprenticeship employers to provide students with opportunities to become apprentices. As an apprentice, you'll earn while you learn—getting paid for on-the-job training while you work at the employer's facility. Apprenticeships can also provide you with a competitive advantage in the workforce, as well as wage increases and opportunities for career advancement.

As a student applying for or attending the Advanced Level Pharmacy Technician (PHT) Program, you have the right to know it meets the certification criteria for Colorado. The certificate will count toward licensing or certification in states other than Colorado. If you are planning to seek to work outside of Colorado, it is strongly recommended that you contact the State’s certifying or licensing entity for guidance before you begin this program.
