Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of a rapidly evolving health care delivery system. Clinical experiences include state-of-the-art acute care centers such as Poudre Valley Hospital, McKee Medical Center, North Colorado Medical Center and Medical Center of the Rockies—as well as diverse settings in long-term care, home health and community agencies.
Nursing Program Mission & Philosophy
The FRCC mission states, “At Front Range Community College we enrich lives through learning.” The mission of Front Range Community College, Department of Nursing is to provide excellent education that prepares the learner to become a member of the nursing profession, meeting the needs of diverse populations.
The profession of nursing encompasses both science and art. Academic knowledge gained from the evidence-based biological, social, and behavioral sciences provides the foundation, while clinical experience supports skill development and critical thinking. The art of nursing is committed to holistic person-centered care, accepting legal, ethical, and moral responsibility inherent to the profession. Collaborative nursing education balances both art and science of the profession providing a strong academic foundation and meaningful opportunities to develop safe, quality, and effective nurses to care for our community across the lifespan.
Larimer Campus Nursing Programs
Registered Nursing Degree (RN)
The Registered Nursing Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree consists of 71.5 credits (29 general education credits and 42.5 nursing credits). Upon completion, students will receive an AAS in Nursing and are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination, NCLEX®RN exam. View the Registered Nursing Curriculum. BSN Dual Enrollment
FRCC Larimer Campus Registered Nursing students are encouraged to work toward a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) during the time they are enrolled in the FRCC's Registered Nursing A.A.S. program. Students may choose FRCC's RN-to-BSN Completion Program or any other RN-to-BSN program.
