FRCC now offers a completion track for surgical technologists that need to complete the educational requirements to sit for the NBSTSA Certification Exam.
How To Get Started
Follow the steps below to take advantage of this program.
Step 1: Apply to Front Range Community College
Tip: Remember your student number as it will be required to apply to the program in Step 2.

Step 2: Apply to the Surgical Technology (STE) Completion Track Program
Once you've completed the STE Completion Track program application, the program director will contact you.

Step 3: Complete Prerequisites
Before beginning Surgical Technology (STE) courses, you must complete the following prerequisites:
- ENG 1021, 1022, or 1031,
- MAT 1140 or above,
- HPR 1045 or 1039,
- BIO 2101,
- BIO 2104,
- BIO 2102, and
- PSY 2440
Please Note: Science courses must be taken within the previous 7 years.
Step 4: Complete Surgical Technology (STE) courses
STE courses are completed in two semesters. Courses are online, one day a week in lab, and up to five days a week during clinicals.
Step 5:
Graduate and take the NBSTSA exam
Once you've graduated from the program, you will earn your degree and be eligible to take the NBSTSA exam.
