Student Success Advising

Our student success advisors are here to help you navigate the ins and outs of your college experience at FRCC. Whether you need help navigating your semester, want to explore your options or are preparing to graduate, our advisors are here to support you every step of the way.

Through a personalized and holistic approach, your student success advisor partners with you to create meaningful academic plans, connects you with campus resources and helps you overcome challenges along the way.  We focus not only on course selection, but also on building the skills, strategies and confidence you need to achieve your goals.

Connecting With Your Advisor

Advising is an ongoing partnership. Staying connected with your advisor throughout your time at FRCC helps you get the most out of your experience here. Your advisor will also reach out with important reminders, resources and support along the way.

While you can meet with your advisor at any time, you'll need to meet with your advisor when you reach of the major milestones below.

First-Term Advising

All students are required to meet with their student success advisor during their first term before registering for the next term. In this meeting, you will:

  • Get to know your advisor
  • Create a full academic plan aligned with your goals
  • Explore campus resources and how to get involved
  • Review your progress and discuss any early challenges

We encourage you to review the Advising Syllabus prior to your meeting for more details and to help you prepare.

Midpoint of Your Program

When you reach the midpoint of your degree or certificate, you will be notified to schedule an appointment.  This is a key opportunity to review your progress and ensure you are on track to complete your program within your intended timeline.

Semester Before Your Final Term

Prior to your last semester, you will meet with your advisor to confirm you are ready to graduate, discuss your post-graduation plans, and review important steps for graduation and/or transfer.

Please note: These required meetings must be completed before you can register for the next term. We strongly encourage you to schedule early after receiving notification to avoid delays in registration.
