What Makes an Apprenticeship Different?
Different than internships and other training programs, apprenticeships are specially designed programs that include five core elements.
1. Paid Employment
Students are paid to learn with guaranteed wage increases as they hone their skills.
2. On-the-Job Learning
Students gain real-world experience with customized, structured work-based learning.
3. FRCC-Provided Instruction
On-the-job skills are enhanced with classroom and laboratory instruction, which provides college credit
4. Mentorship
Apprenticeships work under the supervision of a mentor, providing one-on-one support.
5. Credentials
When the program is completed, apprentices earn a portable, nationally-recognized credential
