Friends in Harmony Culinary Extravaganza & Wine Tasting for Student Scholarships
$15,200 raised
About 400 members of the community enjoyed good food, good drink, good music, and good conversation at the 2009 Friends in Harmony in the Longs Peak Student Center at the Larimer Campus.
About $15,200 was raised for scholarships. One annual highlight of the event is the drawing for a qulit. The “Emerald Queen” was a queen-size quilt composed of 42 pieced blocks in shades of greens and creams made and donated by FRCC staff, faculty, students, and family members. The quilt was assembled by Julie Wilson, a member of the campus Facilities Department. The quilt measured approximately 90 inches by 104 inches.
Thanks to our sponsors, donors, and volunteers.

Create-A-Future
Golf Invitational $33,000 raised
The 25th Annual Create a Future Golf Tournament enticed 96 golfers to a round of golf, lunch, and a new, spirited auction format. After lunch Board President Frank Martinez welcomed guests and introduced guest speaker Mathis Santella, a 2009-2010 scholarship recipient. Mathis shared his compelling life story of single parenthood and how his scholarship will help him achieve his career goal of becoming a teacher. Golf Chair Steve Donelson, wrapped up the event by announcing the winning team from North Suburban Medical Center. The $33,000 raised will enable the Foundation to support 90 scholarship awards during the upcoming 2009-2010 academic year.
We thank our event sponsor Wells Fargo Business Banking, additional sponsors, donors, golfers, and volunteers for making this event a huge success. Their generosity truly makes a positive impact on our students and their educational endeavors.
Please mark your calendars:
The 26th Annual Create a Future Golf Tournament will be Friday, June 11, 2010, at Heritage Todd Creek Golf Club, Thornton.
